Welcome 2022 post image

First #happyfriday of 2022

And just like that, we’re welcoming the first Friday of the new year.

Τhis year promises to be an important one for space exploration. The US is to return to the moon, intended to establish a lunar colony there in a few years. It is expected that China will complete its Tiangong space station. Εurope and Russia will attempt to land spacecraft on Mars. Japan, India, and South Korea also scheduled missions into space.

As of 1 January 2022, three cities in Europe – Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Novi Sad (Serbia), hold the title of European Capital of Culture for one year.

Milton Keynes will hold a large-scale driverless car trial. People would order a car through an app remotely controlled by an operator, which will then be delivered to them.

The post-pandemic workplace continues to shift and requires collaboration between remote workers and office workers.
Customer expectations have shifted, and spending habits are moving away from in-person activities to online.

2021 has been another momentous year for science. This year we will see AI firmly established. To give one example, the WHO recently made tuberculosis the first condition that can be diagnosed from X-rays using the software. mRNA technology has gone from potentially promising applications in immunisation to become a more regular feature of treatments in areas like cancer or auto-immune conditions.

Here is to an exciting New Year!
