Holiday season post image

The Holiday season!

The season we all eagerly await, whatever our religious convictions. But why do we like Christmas? Well, for starters, it’s the season that brings loved ones together. We spend time with them around the festive table.

Our memories and senses wake up, and we get more sensitive. We open up!
There’s no guilt in eating, especially on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We seem to have this sudden sense of loving everyone around us, even those who used to be unkind.

We exchange wishes, some we may mean, others not as much.

We buy presents. Lots of presents and then some more!

We visit our favourite salon, and we set goals, promising to ourselves that we”ll change, get rid of anything that’s holding us back.

Then, of course, we watch movies, bake with our kids, and play silly games that we can’t seem to make time for throughout the year.

Bottom line, we forget our daily routine, and for a few days, we escape to a magical world, our world but sprinkled with magic dust. We become kids again.

We live guilt-free, work commitments free. And perhaps we believe that a kind sir, dressed in red, with a long white beard might come down the chimney.

What can I say? I love Christmas so much that my second children’s book is about the love, the magic, the change, and the feast that we all are looking forward to this time of the year.

Deck the hall with boughs of holly,
Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la!
‘Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la!

Oh, I wish it could be Christmas every day!
From writing to illustrating and publishing, this was an incredible journey.

My new book, ‘The Wicked Turnip in Christmas Foodland‘, is LIVE! Full of spectacular illustrations by amazing Laura Mocelin, these characters with huge personalities are sure to capture your little one’s imagination!

It’s been my passion project for the past months. It’s free on Kindle Unlimited. I hope you enjoy reading it, and I’d be honoured if you check it out and tell a friend about it.

It’s a Christmas story full of magic and hope. Everything you’d expect from a Christmas children’s book. I’m very proud of the outcome and Laura Mocelin did an excellent job with the illustrations. As I told Laura before, it’s as if she could read my mind. She gave life to the world I dreamed of!

P.S. Don’t forget to get the goodies: lovely complimentary activity sheets for your little one.
